"Flat" faces...I'm pretty terrible at profiles, but I think it helps if the head is turned slightly, just so that you can see the other eye or something. If you don’t want to do that, try more detailed shading around the nose and eye areas – if you look at yourself in the mirror with your head turned different ways, you can see how the light reflects onto your skin. You could try transferring some of that into the work.
Otherwise, just keep practicing. Positions are always quite hard, so if you want to focus on body positioning, I wouldn’t worry too much about the faces until you have that perfected.
